Founded in 1967 by local musician and educator Kenneth Hollier, the Oakville Symphony is one of the largest mid-sized orchestras in Canada.

Leading up to its 50th anniversary season, the organization’s leadership was looking for a fresh take on their brand, including the name (originally Oakville Symphony Orchestra), website, and print material. The new brand draws inspiration from the first four basic movements a conductor uses to lead the orchestration of a piece. Combining these movements together creates a dynamic, exciting visual language for this vibrant orchestra. The identity program pulses with colour and movement to create a cohesive, modern look that can play beautifully for decades.

My relationship with the Oakville Symphony started in 2016 and since then, the brand has evolved and changed over the years. With the addition of a new Musical Director in 2022, we have taken the brand to a new level with an exciting look and feel. A new website will launch in the latter half of 2024 to match the renewed brand.
